Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all trips publicly available on the France Outdoors website. Terms and conditions may vary for private or tailormade trips, and are communicated on trip page and before booking.

Cancellations:
All cancellations must be remitted in writing.
Cancellations received 30 days prior to tour or more will be subject to the deposit value administration fee. For cancellations received less than 30 days prior to tour date, full tour costs will be assessed. We strongly recommend the purchase of Trip Cancellation Insurance as this is the only way you will receive a full refund if your trip has been paid for in full. See VHI for trip insurance.
No refunds will be made for a cancellation during the course of the tour, nor for unused portions of the trip, nor for any changes, upgrades, adjustments made during the course of a tour. Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason.
Non-payment of your trip balance by the due date will be considered a cancellation, and your space will be offered to the next person on our waiting list.

Fitness – Trip Grade:
Each trip is categorized as Leisurely, Moderate or Challenging. You need to carefully assess if your level of fitness will be sufficient to enjoy a trip. Do not hesitate to contact us anytime if you need more details on the difficulty of each trip in terms of ascent, distance, terrain, weather conditions, etc.. On the ground, the guide(s) can, as a last resort, decide for your own safety and the one of the rest of group, that you can not join the group for a particular activity. In this case we will always discuss that matter with you and help you to find alternative activity you can undertake to enjoy your holiday.

Financial protection:
The monies you pay to us for your holiday are protected by means of “guarantie financiere” compulsory to all French operators under our travel agent licence delivered by “Atout France” the French tourism body. This is equivalent to a tour operator operating from the UK  whereby all monies paid for your holiday are protected by means of an an ABTA bond provided by Travel & General Insurance Services Limited. This means that, if in the unlikely event of our insolvency your holiday can’t be provided, you will receive your money back or, if your stay has started, arrangements will be made for you to be able to continue as planned.

If we we change or cancel your booking:
We may occasionally have to make changes or cancel your booking and we reserve the right to do so at any time.
Changes:
If we make a major change to your holiday, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of accepting the change of accommodation, or you can take any alternative accommodation we are able to offer you (you will pay the increase in cost if the replacement is advertised at a higher price than your original booking, or receive a refund of the difference if it is less expensive), or a refund. These options don’t apply for minor changes. Examples of minor changes include, but are not limited to, change of accommodation to another of the same or higher standard, temporary withdrawal of facilities or seasonal unavailability of amenities.
Cancellation:
We will not cancel your travel arrangements less than four weeks before your departure date, except for reasons beyond our control (also known as force majeure) or failure by you to pay the final balance. If your holiday is cancelled you can either have a refund or accept an offer of alternative accommodation of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value).
Any amendment or cancellation fees you incur in terms of other arrangements you have made with other providers under separate contracts are not claimable from us. Please note that if a change or cancellation occurs because of circumstances beyond our control, for example war, riot, industrial dispute, actual or threatened terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, flood, epidemic or pandemic illness and all similar situations we will have no further liability to you (except Covid clause below). No compensation, costs, damages, losses, expenses or any other sums, including the cost of securing alternative transport or accommodation will be paid by us.

Covid 19:
If the trip has to be cancelled at any stage because of the Covid situation a full refund of all money paid to France Outdoors will be offered (unless specified otherwise in individual trip conditions, visible on the “Essentials” tab of the trip page).

Deposit:
30 % of base price before extra supplements and banks fees when applicable. Supplements and bank fees will be paid with the balance.
