Walking Slovenia – the Essentials
During this trip you will explore in full, the Julian Alps, on the Slovenian side, Italian and Austrian. The trip will take place in Kranjska Gora a typical Alpine village. It is known for its winter sports and annual Alpine Skiing World Cup. The valley is surrounded by the Karavanke Mountains and the Julian Alps of which, Mount Triglav (2,864m) is the highest peak. Fantastic trip. Kranjska Gora is an excellent base for hiking & other outdoor activities. Majestic mountains & we thoroughly enjoyed the hikes and our week. Organisation was excellent. Hotel was very comfortable, good facilities and good choices of foods. Would return again.

First time in Kranjka Gora. Superb location right in the heart of the mountains. Excellent hotel. Great guides. Our main guide for the week was Masa who had to alter a walk route due to rock conditions, and that turned out to be the best walk of the week! Alos, lots of bike rental opportunities opposite the hotel for your day off. We took 2 electric bikes and climbed 800m to the tri-border peak on beautifully quiet tracks. Kranjska also has a fabulous, long cycleway along an old railway track. The whole area is just stunningly beautiful!

Thank you for planning a trip that allowed me to discover the fantastic hiking opportunities in Slovenia. All the organisation was superb – the hotel, the guides, the transfers… The guides were particularly good – they took on board our feedback and led us on spectacular hikes. 5 stars all the way. Merci beaucoup!

Great trip. My third time to Kranska Gora and I have always enjoyed Slovenia. The mountains are beautiful. The guides were all very good and listened to any feedback on walks and made every effort to accommodate the different levels. I was lucky enough to be able to climb Triglav with a separate guiding company at my own expense during the week so that was fantastic. I would have liked more walks in the Julian alps themselves, maybe up to some of the higher huts. However I realize not always easy to organize with a group etc. Overall great trip!
