Itinerary – Walking – Cinque Terre

Mon. 08th of April: Start Levanto
Pick up at Milan Malpensa airport (flight from Dublin FR1454 arriving at Milan Malpensa Airport at 20h30), welcome by your France Outdoors guide and transfer to the family run, 3-star Hotel Carla, transfer time around 3h. The hotel is located close to Levanto centre town, about 12 min walk to the sea front. Levanto is a small beautiful resort town surrounded by a green valley of pine forests, olive groves, vineyards and small medieval villages. It is one of the most lively villages of the Cinque Terre. Briefing in the bus.
Dinner not included due to late arrival. Tue. 09th of April: Walk San Gorgio – Bonassola
The goal for today’s walk is to explore the area West of Levento from the hotel. Start in Levanto and discover the village, you will then walk to Bonnassola through the hills, via a spectacular headland and through olive and vine terraces. Then walk down to Bonassola and visit this charming village. Return either by train or by foot to Levanto.

12 km with 330 m of ascent. Wed. 10th of April: Vernazza – Corniglia – Manarola
After alighting the train at Vernazza we head off along the famous Cinque Terre Coastal Path to reach the charming village of Manarola perched on its headland. You can take time to visit this colourful village after your walk as well as Corniglia on your way.
10 km with 500 m of ascent.

On your free day you may like to take the train to Genoa, relax on the beach, or spend more time soaking up the atmosphere of the Cinque Terre villages.
On option it is possible for 55€ (5 people minimum) to take an excursion to the north to visit the Paradise Gulf. After alighting the train at Levanto to Santa Margherita, you will then enjoy a boat trip to Portofino. Visit this Pastel-colored houses village and high-end boutiques. Take the that leads from the Piazzetta to Castello Brown, a 16th-century fortress and museum with art exhibitions and panoramic views of the town and the Ligurian Sea. At the end of the visit, possibility to walk or take the boat back to Santa Margherita.

Today we take the train to Monterosso. After a visit of Monterosso the largest of the cinque terre villages you will walk to Levanto with beautiful views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea an a stop at the view point San Antonio del Mesco.

Take the train in the morning to Manarola. Begin your walk by a climb with spectacular coastal views and descend to the village of Riomaggiore where you can stop for a visit. Then optional scenic walk around Riomaggiore.
8 km with 420 m of ascent.
Breakfast & dinner included. Lunch not included Sun. 14th April: Monterosso to Vernazza
Today we walk from Monterosso to Vernazza, either along the famous lower coastal path or on quieter paths in the hills. Both option complete the final section of the coast path which links the five villages of the Cinque Terre.
From Monterosso the path ascends through lemon groves of Monterosso old town. We then walk to the pretty harbour of Vernazza with its cafés. Vernazza is arguably the prettiest of the five Cinque Terre villages with its colourful houses winding down to its natural harbour, protected by a rocky headland. Here there is plenty of time to explore before heading to the station for our train back to Levanto.
7 km with 160 m of ascent.

Take your time in Levanto in the morning . Early aftrenoon transfer to Milan Malpensa airport (Ryanair flight FR 1455).
