Snowshoeing holiday – Stelvio National Park – Santa Caterina
This trip is center based in the lovely Italian alpine village of Santa Caterina surrounded by the high peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale mountain range is located right in the heart of Stelvio National Park and very near the swiss border.
This trip includes 5 guided snowshoeing days with Vincent, the trip is suitable to any regular hiker.
All walks will be from 7 to 11 km distance and 300m to 600 m ascent.
Airport: Fly to Milan airport
Accommodations: 3* Hotel Nordik
Included:
– One France Outdoors European mountain leader for the week to guide the 5 walks and coordinate the trip.
– Milan Bergamo, Linate or Malpensa airport pick up and drop off to match the group flights.
– Transports during the trip.
– 7 nights in the 3* Hotel Nordik based in twin rooms / double rooms.
– 7 breakfasts. 6 Dinners.
– Snowshoes, winter walking poles and safety equipment (transceivers, probes and shovels)

– The flights.
– Any transfer not matching group transfer.
– Individual insurance.

Please note that if you book a sharing place (twin rooms) without a sharing partner, we will do our best to find you one, however in failing doing so, extra single supplement will apply.

Booking process:
– Deposit 30% upon reservation.
– Balance 6 weeks before trip departure.
Check lit:
– Walking boots, (leather boots).
– Gaiters.
– Ski pants. Thermal leggings.
– Good pair of winter socks.
– Ski jacket or Waterproof jacket breathable.
– Fleece jacket.
– Micro fleece and mountain tee shirts, if possible avoid cotton tee-shirts.
– Hat and cap, buffs.
– Gloves two pairs, one light and one warm
– For snowshoeing no need to bring your walking sticks as we provide them, unless you prefer to use your own.
– Rucksack 30 Litres min (with straps to carry snowshoes).
– Water bottle 1.5 Litres (avoid camel packs) as the tube can freeze in winter). Thermal flask 0,5 L for a hot drink during the hike.
– Sunglasses and googles can be handy.
– Don’t forget your own medication (if any) .
– Blister treatment (second skin, etc,..).
– Sunprotection, suncream.

My trip with Vincent France Outdoors was from 7th March to 14th March 2026. What a fabulous trip!! We snowshoed to a height of 3300 mtrs ! I have never been that high and it was amazing. Really enjoyed the area around Santa Catarina and all the lovely huts Vincent brought us to. Hotel Nord was so lovely as was all the staff, and not to mention the food, from breakfast to dinner and desserts absolutely stunning. Will be back next year to do hut to hut. Amazing from start to finish.

Really enjoyable week snowshoe walking in Santa Caterina. Lovely varied walks created by Vincent and comfortable and punctual transfers morning and evening. Recovery time in the sauna in the Hotel Nordvik very welcome every evening.

Fabulous trip with France Outdoors and Vincent, (2nd time snowshoeing, two previous autumn hikes and another pending).
Location and accommodation were excellent, lovely family run hotel with great food, different menu every evening. Staff very courteous and accommodating.
The Italian Alps /Santa Caterina were breathtaking (on some days literally !!).
Vincent is very professional with regards safety equipment and paced the hikes to the needs/capacity of the group. I highly recommend this small company for excellent hiking or snowshoeing trips which can be tailored to the groups wishes. Au revoir!
