Tue. November 7 :  Arrival Buenos Aires
Pick up from Buenos Aires airport by Stephanie and transfer to your hotel.
Dinner not incl.

Wed  8th Nov : Buenos Aires – El Calafate – Estancia – no walking.
Transfer to the national airport and flight to El Calafate. Welcome at El Calafate airport and transfer to the Estancia. Visit this touristic town at the edge of the Lago Argentino, the route towards an estancia (ranch) at the gates of the Los Glaciares national Park. Visit the estancia and discover the activities associated with rearing animals. Dinner in the evening (asado – lamb roasted on a wood fire) and night in the estancia, 2 per room.
Flight to El Calafate: 4 hrs Transfer time : 1 hour to Estancia.

Thu 9th Nov : Glacier Perito Moreno – El Calafate
Transfer in the morning along the Lac Argentino to the Magallanes peninsula. You enter the Los Glaciares park to approach the Perito Moreno glacier, an immense glacial tongue coming from the continental ice cape. A walk in front of the impressive ice face falling into the turquoise waters of Lago Argentino. Return to El Calafate in the late afternoon.
Walking time: 2 hours - Transfer time 1,5 hours out; 1,5 hours return

Fri 10th Nov : El Calafate – Parc Torres del Paine – no walking
Transfer along the Rio Santa Cruz then cross the immense spread of the pampas to join the border with Chili, at the village of Cerro Castillo, known as one of the principal livestock centres of the region. Every year in November the herds from surrounding ranches are gathered here for the annual Shearing Ceremony.  The route then joins the Lac Sarmiento with a first view of the Massif du Paine. Discover the first herds of guanaco, with maybe a condor flying.
Night in complex Las Torres, 2 per room.
Transfer time: 6 to 7 hours in total.

Sat 11th Nov : Mirador las Torres
Walk today to the Las Torres valley the best part of the W trek. Climb along the Ascencio river, discovering the oldest lenga forest in the park. In couple of hours you join the foot of the moraine. There remains around 45min climb on the side of the moraine to reach the most famous viewpoint in the park, the Mirador les Torres at the foot of the Norte, Central and Sur peaks. Opposite, above the glacier, towers 100m of vertical granite walls, a unique sight. Pause for lunch in this high mountain universe before descending to the valley. You will then join the Las Torres complex and where we will stay in the same hotel as previous night.

Sun 12th Nov : Valle Frances
Today early in the morning we bring our bags for the 2 nights at the refuges. Crossing by catamaran to join the Paine Grande lodge. Walk along the Skottsberg lake to join the Valle Frances. At the entry to the valley you will discover the spectacular crest of the Paine Grande which, at 3050m, is the highest summit of the Paine massif, where the elements rage on an enormous suspended glacier. Possibility of climbing the valley to discover the panorama of the surrounding lakes. Around you will see the glacial cirque that is unique in the park; opposite tower the crests with evocative names – Tiburon, Espada, Mascara. Stay in a Paine Grande lodge in the Park for the night, multisharing.
Walking time : 7 hours –25 min transfer to the catamaran in the morning

Mon 13th Nov : Glacier Grey
Walk 4 hours to join the lake and the Grey glacier, another immense tongue which, like the Perito Moreno, comes from the immense ice sheet which is one of the largest freshwater reserves of the planet. Halfway you will discover the immensity of the glacier and its icebergs floating on the lake. Night in a nice refuge, near the Grey glacier.

Tue 14th Nov – Glacier Grey – Villa Serano
Free morning to admire the scenery around and get closer to the glacier end front. At midday departure for a boat trip opposite the glacier., discovering its serracs and blue interior. Then join the south of the lake and disembark on the grey lake beach. Walk in a forest of lengas, then transfer towards Villa Serrano, on the banks of the Rio Serrano. Night in a lodge with a spectacular view of the massif.
1 hour walking – 45 min transfer and 3 hours boat trip.

Wed 15th Nov – El Chalten
In the morning transfer through the Patagonian Steppes to El Chalten, a small village of 300 inhabitants that is the “youngest” village in Argentina (est. 1985). Nestled at the bottom of the Fitz Roy Massive, it is in the Los Glaciares National Park. The road takes you along the Lago Argentino then the Lago Viedma, with on the horizon the towering peaks of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy.
During this transfer you will cross the border from Chili to Argentina at Cerro Castillo.
Transfer time to El Chalten 8 hours – no walking

Thu 16th Nov – El Chalten – Cerro Torre
Walk towards the Cerro Torre. You will join a plateau overlooking the Rio las Vueltas and from there continue to a valley with soon on the horizon the Cerro Torre and Las Adelas mountain chain. The path follows the valley along the Fitz Roy river, crossing several glacial rock bars. After about 3 hours walking, you will arrive at the Lago Torre at the foot of the Cerro Torre, an impressive snow-capped granite needle. Return by same route to El Chalten.

Fri 17th Nov – El Chalten – Monte Fitz Roy
Transfer in the morning to the El Pilar hosteria, 17km from El Chalten. Walk in a glacial valley, along the Rio Blanco. Soon appears the enormous tongue of the Piedras Blancas glacier that descends to the valley. Arriving at the Poincenot camp, join the foot of the moraine that will bring you in 1 hour of regular climbing to the foot of the spectacular Fitz Roy and the neighbouring peaks of Mermoz, Guillaumet and Saint Exupιry. A unique view of the stone giants reflecting in the Lago los Tres. At the left the strange colour of the Laguna Sucia is worth the detour. Return to El Chalten via the Chorillo del Salto, a small mountain stream.
Walking time: 6-8 hours - Transfer time 45 minutes

Sat 18th Nov – El Chalten – Pliegue Tumbado
A full day of walking to climb to the Mirador del Pliegue Tumbado. The first part of the route in the forest, before a first view-point on the whole range with the South faces of the Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. Continue on a quite steep climb to the true Mirador (viewpoint) which offers an exceptional view down on the Cerro Solo and the whole range of mountains from the Cerro Huemul to the Guillaumet, via the Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy. Descent by the same route.

Sun 19th Nov – Free day El Chalten
The choice of free day is flexible, in case of bad weather. On your free day you can take a boat trip to the foot of the Viedma glacier, or even walk on the glacier. El Chalten also offers other activities such as bouldering, mountain biking, fishing, rafting or horse riding. Or you can take advantage of the free time to relax at the spa or get a massage.

Mon 20th Nov – Transfer to Calafate – and  to Buenos Aires
In the morning take a local bus to Calafate from where you will join the airport in the afternoon for your flight to Buenos Aires (not incl).
Night in a hotel in Buenos Aires.
3 hours transfer to Calafate airport – no walking.
Breakfast & lunch incl. Diner not incl.

Tue 21st Nov – City tour Buenos Aires
Today you will visit the cathedral of Buenos Aires, the city cemetery the major points of interest of the city.
This tour takes half of the day maximum so you will also get time for yourself.
Breakfast incl. Lunch and diner not incl.

Wed 22nd Nov – Farewell!
Transfer to international airport and return flight to Europe.
