Marrakesh - Menara garden

Day 1: ARRIVAL - Marrakesh
Meet with Vincent (your France Outdoors guide) at Marrakesh airport. Transfer to a 2 Star hotel located in a tranquil part of the city. Stimulate your senses as you explore the vibrant city centre of Marrakesh, where colours, aromas, and the buzz of people will take you to another world. If you wish to see some sights, the city also holds many fabulous gardens and monuments. In the evening, meet with your guide to go through the itinerary for the week.

On the way to Tichka pass.

Day 2 - TRANSFER - Join the start of the trek through Col Tichka
Meet with Abdou (a local guide) and venture off to the starting point of the trek. You will take one of the most spectacular routes filled with luscious green valleys before reaching the "Tichka Pass" and entering the "Atlas Mountains". Notice the colour of the terrain changing from greens to deep reds and look forward to seeing the amazing dry lake of "Iriki". Later on meet the team who provide you with camels and luggage transfer and take a mild walk to camp for the evening.

Fun in the dunes.

Day 3 - WALK - Dunes of Erg el Rhou - Dunes of Mazhil
Today the fun begins on Camel back, trekking through the Moroccan sahara. You will take a route away from the common tourist tracks, and experience the desert in its ideal form. Under the "Tamarix" bush shadows the chef will prepare lunch while you and the kids have fun on the sandy slopes.

Dune walk.

Day 4 - WALK - Dunes de Mazhil - Dunes Chgaga
Heading east you will cross some of the highest and most beautiful slopes, the dunes of "Ebidyla". The views are breathtaking. We will then ride to the road of Berber families which will take us out of the sahara and into the Atlas mountains still on our four legged friends.

Tea break.

Day 5 - WALK - Dunes Chgaga - Oued M'hasser gate
Today we will venture to the "Djebl Bani chain" where the landscape changes back once again to luscious greens on approach to the mountains. We will break at the the "Oued M'hasser", and then enter the amazing canyon with overhanging cliffs.

Inhabitant of the desert.

Day 6 - WALK - Gorges M'hasser - Oasis Boutwama - Aferdou
Heading North we will discover the spurs of the "Djebel Bani" and stop for lunch in the hidden palm grove of "Oasis Boutama" which possesses a rather unique well. We will then move on to the "Aferdou Sahli" where camp will be waiting for our arrival.

Family snowshoeing time.

Day 7 - WALK - Aferdou - El Feija - Ouarzazate
After breakfast we will cross the "Djebl Bani" through "Foum Lachar pass" where the superb view of "Feija valley" will come into sight. Notice the different textures of the terrain due to the dryness of previous days. From this point we will transfer to "Zagora", this time using four wheels, for lunch upon the palm grove. Next stop is "Quarzazate" (the door of the desert), the best place to do some shopping. There is also a movie studio you can visit where films like "Gladiator", "Asterix" and "Cleopatra" were set. Retire for the night in "Quarazazate" in your 2 Star hotel.

Day 8 - TRANSFER - Ouarzazate - Marrakesh
After breakfast we will transfer to Marrakesh via Tichka pass.
We can either stop for lunch between towns or wait until arrival in Marrakesh.
Marrakesh is nicknamed the red City as the Medina is encircled by red ramparts. Appreciate the bustling atmosphere or take a stroll through the tranquil gardens (Majorelle or the Menera gardens). We will stay in a 2* hotel in Marrakesh.

Bye, bye!

Enjoy your final morning in Marrakesh and later you will be transferred to the relevant airports.
